NTCA is a free, public charter school. As such, we do not charge tuition or fees to attend our school!
The vision of North Texas Collegiate Academy, a TEA accredited school, is to develop a partnership with parents and the community to provide a nurturing environment in which students master college preparatory and vocational skills while cultivating their unique talents in a character-based atmosphere. North Texas Collegiate Academy will fulfill this vision through the implementation of 4 district goals:
1: to effectively implement a challenging curriculum that exceeds state standards,
2: to promote a comprehensive college and career readiness program for all students,
3: to sustain a culture that promotes high expectations for character, academics, and leadership for all students and staff, and
4: to engage all stakeholders: family, community, and schools, in a relationship of mutual respect and trust.
Character education is a huge part of the NTCA program. Every class, every day, in every grade level starts the school day with a character trait lesson focusing on our district character trait of the week. Without character, academic knowledge is of little benefit. We know that instilling values and ethics in our students, coupled with our strong academic program, equips them for life long success.
We are proud partners with Encircle, and believe that together we can “inspire with character, invest in community, and instill with confidence!”
We believe that no child should go to bed hungry in our communities, and that together we can make a difference.
When they leave school on Fridays, thousands of children on the free and reduced program at school could go for as long as 65 hours without food until they receive breakfast at school on Monday. Can you imagine? 1 out or 4 children go hungry all weekend, and in some areas 1 out of every 3.
That’s where you come in. For only $5, you can feed a hungry student for one full weekend – a weekend the student would otherwise not eat a single meal. And for $150, you can feed a student for the entire school year. Imagine what a difference this would make in a hungry child’s life! As we like to say, “you can do a lot with a latte.”
Food for the Soul also connects the local church to the school and the community. Jesus taught his followers to “feed the hungry”, and the depth of those three words are not only changing the lives of the children…they are changing the families receiving the food, the school, and the community! Every day, new miracles happen when you give.
To date, with our corporate donors, individual donors, churches, canned food drives, and a national grocery supplier, Food for the Soul has been blessed to provide nearly one million free meals to hungry children in our communities. And this impact is only set to grow even more over the coming years!
We are proud partners with Encircle, and believe that together we can continue our fight to end childhood hunger – one weekend at a time.
